Open Call


SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS • Open to: artists based in and around Vienna with experience of displacement and artists without the experience of displacement willing to co-create a collaborative transmedial art project. • Format & media: unrestricted. (photography, performance, sound, painting, sculpture, etc) • Every submission requires a short biography of the artist, three examples of previous works plus description, motivation to be part of this exhibition. • Please note: submissions that do not include a photo or video of previous works cannot be considered due to the short duration of this open call. HOW TO SUBMIT Entries are only accepted via email to contact@questionmeandanswer.com with email subject: “Question Me & Answer call for artists”. Latest by February 25, 2019, 11:59 PM. SELECTION PROCESS The application to participate in the project is open to all artists based in and around Vienna with experience of displacement and artists based in and around Vienna without the experience of displacement willing to co-create a collaborative transmedial art project. We will ensure that the Open Call is advertised as widely and intensively as possible and reaches all target groups to the same extent. After conducting an open call, about 10-14 artists will be selected and have the opportunity to work together in pairs. The cooperation is limited to three months. Within this period, curators will organize four meetings (twice a month) to help with documentation, process development, and advice for the artists. At the end of June 2020, the works will be presented as part of an exhibition.

• Every submission requires:
a short biography of the artist, three examples of previous works with description, max. A4 motivation text for being a part of this exhibition.

• Please note:
submissions that do not include a photo or video of previous works cannot be considered.

Entries are only accepted via email to contact@questionmeandanswer.com with email subject: “Question Me & Answer call for artists”. Latest by February 25, 2019, 11:59 PM.

SELECTION PROCESS

We will ensure that the open call is advertised as widely and intensively as possible and reaches all target groups to the same extent so that all possible participants get the same chance to apply.

The selection is done by the entire team of QUESTION ME & ANSWER and is based on a variety of different criteria.

The selection will be completed by March 12, 2020.
