𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐐𝐌&𝐀. 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎!

Twice a year we publish an open call, inviting artists of all disciplines to apply to work with us. Out of all applications we chose between 15-20 artists that we find especially intriguing. Out of these artists, we form groups consisting of 2 to 3 people. Our focus is on bringing together people that work in different disciplines and have a different perspective on Vienna’s art sector and its inclusivity. In most cases that means that we pair an artist that only recently arrived in Vienna as a migrant or refugee with an artist that has already been living in Vienna for a long time. These groups of artists have 3 months time to produce artworks together that are exhibited in a suitable space. Within this period, the curators will organize regular meetings to help with documentation, process development and general advice. In the meantime, the team also coordinates different events for the collective of all artists selected to get to know each other better, meet interesting artists together and get to know different important actors inside the Austrian cultural sector.

𝐒𝐔𝐁𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒

• Open to:
artists already based in and around Vienna for a long time and
artists new to Vienna who have experienced displacement
and are willing to co-create a collaborative mixed media art project.

• Format & media:
unrestricted (photography, performance, sound, painting, sculpture, etc).

• Every submission requires:
a short biography of the artist, three examples of previous works with description, max. A4 motivation text for being a part of this exhibition.

• Please note:
submissions that do not include a photo or video of previous works cannot be considered.

• Language of the application:
English or German

We will ensure that the open call is advertised as widely and intensively as possible and reaches all target groups to the same extent so that all possible participants get the same chance to apply.
The selection is done by the entire team of QUESTION ME & ANSWER and is based on a variety of different criteria.
