QM&A Kids Summer is a one-week program from 27-31 July for children from 8-13 years old that

will raise awareness for social issues

, foster interdisciplinary creativity and give the kids the opportunity to make new and unexpected friendships.

It will take place from July 27-31, everyday from 9am to 4pm. In the morning we start the day by having breakfast together. Everyday the time between 10 and 12 am is dedicated to musical improvisation. The music teacher Aaron Steiner will be introducing the children to music composing and rhythm training in a playful manner with a thematic focus on planet earth. Between 12 and 1 we have a delicious lunch together that is entirely organic and made by two cooks on-site. Every afternoon from 1 to 4 there are different workshops, ranging from dance classes, street art painting to illustration courses with different artists. The entire program will take place in an orchestra rehearsal room with a kitchen and courtyard.

LANGUAGES
The workshops will be held in English and German, depending on the kids’ language abilities. For all workshops there will be a translator present. This will enable them to improve their English or German skills.

About the workshops

ula-workshop.jpg

Ūla Šveikauskaitė:

in this workshop we will create a leporello book. At first kids get to develop a short story by interviewing the kid next to them and simplifying it in a couple of sentences. Then they sketch it in the 8 panels. After that they make a final book using hard paper, pencils, markers and collage technique.

Ūla is a freelance illustrator from Lithuania, currently living and working in Vienna, Austria. She finished her studies in Vilnius Academy of Arts where she studied graphics and printmaking. Four years of studies there led her to a better understanding of a line, a shape, a surface and a big range of traditional graphic technologies. After getting her bachelor's degree Ūla took time to adapt all her knowledge of analogue techniques to the screen by developing skills in digital illustration.Ūla Šveikauskaitė offers illustration and crafts workshops at the Lithuanian community school “Ąžuoliukas”.

Philipp Netolitzky,

Colourful ideas? Creative & interested in art? BINGO! Let's go ...

Being enthusiastic and curious and attracted by innovations and creative people, I founded
iOnArt. Working with children, our most creative and imaginative minds, I see as an enrichment.
"The philosophy of life is to help others, to make our world more colourful and to share our experiences. Art is more joyful when it is shared with others".
At the beginning the participants will receive an introduction and a short overview of street art, on the basis of which a design will be created - on paper and then directly on the wall using a spray can and colours.

After some warm-up games and different dance exercices we will develop our own choreography for a modern pop song. In these three hours, the kids will learn basic elements of hip hop and other dance styles in a playful manner. This course is centred around having fun in exploring different dance styles and learning to engage the body in different movements.
Anna is a certified dance teacher at the dance studio Mamborama with a focus on hip hop jazz dance for children and teens.
